People are living longer than ever, and while regular brushing, flossing, and checkups allow many of us to maintain our natural smiles for a lifetime, sometimes our teeth just can’t keep up. If you’ve lost a tooth (or a few teeth) due to injury or disease, dental implants can help rejuvenate both your smile and your oral health.
A dental implant is a synthetic tooth root, typically made of titanium, that is surgically placed into the jawbone by a qualified dental specialist. Once the implant has healed and is ready to be restored, a replacement tooth can be attached to it. Our role is to restore dental implants with natural-looking replacement teeth designed to help you smile, speak, and eat with confidence.
Not everyone is a candidate for dental implants. Factors such as oral health, bone availability, gum health, and tobacco use may affect candidacy. If implant placement is recommended, we can work with the appropriate dental specialist and provide the restorative care needed to complete your smile.
Dental implants are versatile. If you are missing one tooth, a single implant can support one replacement tooth. If you are missing several teeth in a row, strategically placed implants may support a bridge. For patients who have lost all of their teeth, multiple implants may also be used to support a full-arch restoration or denture.
While we do not currently place dental implants, we restore implants after placement and healing to help create a comfortable, functional, and natural-looking result.
Traditional bridges and removable dentures can be excellent solutions for missing teeth, but implant-supported restorations offer several unique benefits. Because implants are anchored in the jawbone, they can provide excellent stability and allow replacement teeth to look, feel, and function more like natural teeth.
Implant restorations may also reduce the need to rely on neighboring natural teeth for support. The right solution depends on your individual oral health, needs, and treatment goals, and we can help you understand your restorative options.
Consider your implant-supported replacement teeth much like your natural teeth. They require consistent brushing, appropriate cleaning between and around the teeth, and regular professional checkups and cleanings.
Dental implants and their restorations can still develop plaque and tartar, and the surrounding gum tissue needs to remain healthy. With proper home care and professional maintenance, implant restorations can provide many years of function.
Our implant services focus on the restoration and ongoing care of dental implants after they have been placed by a qualified dental specialist. Services may include:
