Meet Dr. Ruiz
Sarai Ruiz, DMD
Being a dentist is more than a job; it is my passion. I love the feeling I get from treating people and being able to alleviate their pain or change their smile. It means a lot to me to be entrusted with the health of families here in Branford.
Education and Continuing Education
Originally from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, I earned my Bachelor of Science in General Science/Minor in Biology from Pentifical Catholic University in Puerto Rico in 2005. After that, I completed my formal dental training at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus, School of Dentistry, earning my Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2009.
Through my two-year general practice residency at the Ohio State University, I was able to broaden my knowledge in general comprehensive care and was able to perform full-mouth rehabilitations, cosmetic cases, and the restoration of implants. I was also able to work at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where I learned how to treat and manage the dental needs of the pediatric community.

Outside the Office
I love the life I’ve built in West Haven, and share it with my boyfriend, Oscar, and my two Shih-Tzus, Apollo and Falcon. I am an active person, so much of my free time is spent training for and running marathons and hiking. I also enjoy reading sci-fi novels.
